I freaking love this cover design done by Jez Burrows, who won second place at the 2008 Penguin Design Award in the UK. Love the condensed typography. I used to despise condensed fonts but now I can’t get enough of them. I love the confidence Jez showed by covering up a lot of the title. It definitely works. Most people associate Jack Kerouac with this classic anyway. I am actually working through the book right now (not this particular copy unfortunately, which I hope gets published). It is the type of book that somehow simultaneously stirs up this deep passion to travel and also kinda ef’s my brain up a bit. Either way I can’t put the thing down.
Hello.
This is the blog for Inkdryer, which is the visual work of me, Chris Hendrixson. Click here to check out my work. What you see on this blog are things that I inspire me in my design projects. You will find a random mix of creativity collected from around the internet and beyond that I find moving, provocative, strange, interesting, or funny. Hopefully you will find them at least slightly as inspiring as I do, even if you are an accountant.

I’ve tried a number of times over the past few years to finish the book, but every time I get back into it I end up getting depressed that I’m not living then and riding the rails everywhere.
Subsequently, I am half of the way through 3 of his books. Forever.
